Hello! Thank you for visiting my site, I hope we can work together soon. If you are a professional, artist, designer, a new mom, recent grad, recently engaged, or someone looking to get family photos done, I would love to capture your story!
My interest in photography started sometime in elementary school with using my mom's old film camera. I learned the basics of cameras from home and was instantly hooked. I loved the idea of capturing a fraction of a second in time and making it into a memory to look back on or a piece of art.
One year of middle school I was given a plastic fisheye 35mm lomography camera. I literally took pictures of everything with that little camera. I loved how the wide angle made right angles into curves, and the film brought out grainy pops of color.
Eventually in high school I got my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel, and I have been shooting with Canon bodies ever since. My first lens I got was a 10-24mm which may have been a result of shooting with that ultra wide on the 35mm. I still loved how I could get everything in frame when shooting landscapes, and the fact that I could get very close to an object such as a boat or a car and still get interesting angles.
Attending college near the beach in California exposed me to plenty of opportunities to take pictures of surfing. I was drawn to freezing a second in time during a sport that is so fast paced. It was so satisfying getting a shot of a friend doing something they were so passionate about. I loved how my photos made them happy so I kept doing it and eventually got a 300mm lens to capture action up close
My first paid photography job was a staff photographer for my college newspaper. I found apart from action, I also loved covering profile pieces and getting a good portrait of my subject. This is when I started studying photo journalism and how photos can truly tell a story. I strive to still use photojournalism techniques every time I capture a portrait session. I like the photos to tell a story through candid interactions and have a beginning, middle and end.
Since 2010 I have worked as an event, news, product, portrait, lifestyle, and adventure photographer. It's the dream and I love it!
Thanks for reading my photo story and do not hesitate to ask about collaborating or booking a session!
